WAR MEMORIAL PARK ASSOCIATION
Who Are We?
Introducing the War Memorial Park Association, a prestigious organization established in 1947 with a rich history of dedication to honoring the sacrifices of our nation's heroes. As the original developer and operator of the park, the Association held the esteemed responsibility of managing the entire park for four decades.
In 1987, acknowledging the challenges faced by volunteer-based operations, the Association gracefully transferred the park's maintenance and operation responsibilities to the city of Martinsburg. However, their commitment to the park's legacy remained steadfast, and they evolved into the Friends of the Park organization.
Today, the War Memorial Park Association's primary mission is to raise essential funds for the park's continuous improvements, ensuring that it remains a proud symbol of our nation's gratitude. The Labor Day Breakfast stands as the Association's flagship fundraising event, bringing together the community to celebrate and support the park.
